Don't cry about it, be about it

Don't cry about it, be about it

Self reflecting is an easy task when you become conscious of doing it correctly. It also can become a never ending prison of constantly critiquing yourself and how you can do things better or telling yourself what you should have done differently. It is extremely important to be able to sit, reflect and learn. It’s equally imperative that you let go, move on, and take action.

This week on heyitsmekmac, I have provided you with some self-reflecting thoughts. Now, it is time to decide what you are going to do with the lessons you have learned. Taking action is what will change your life. Every decision that you make has an impact on your life and its trajectory. If you are anything like me, knowing this may freak you out a bit (shout out anxiety).

Take your life to the next level and get started on that random idea that keeps coming back to you. They say that the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago but, the second best time is now. Let go of the fear that is holding you back and get uncomfortable.

People often tell me that I am too hard on myself. It may be the fact that my 24th birthday is around the corner and my quarter life crisis has begun. I've been thinking about all the things that I have not achieved yet and how much further I have to go to reach my dream life. I’ve been feeling like a failure and wondering what do I really have to offer to the world?

When talking to my friend about this, he began express his current dilemma as well in feeling like he needs to go 1% harder. When I woke up and read that message, I felt truly inspired to keep going. It’s not about going from 0-100 but, going from that 89% to a 90%. Doing little things everyday is how you will reach the bigger end goal because as we all know, unless you’re singing about Old Town Roads, drastic life changes don't happen overnight.

I know for a fact that I don't want to be an average joe, complaining about my life and how I wish I created my business when I was in my twenties. It is never too late to change your life around. We only have one lifetime and it is too precious to not do the things that we love.

A tip: make a list of all the things you love to do. After that, make a list of all the things you do daily and compare. If your list don't match up, you know it’s time to make a change!
